Barking Birch

Birch trees are among my favorite because you can appreciate the beauty of both their leaves in the summer and their beautiful bark all year long.  In my opibnion, the peeling bark is as attractive as the fall foliage on these trees and in the fall they shed their bark like paper.  It was this period when they were 'shedding' that instigated my interest in taking this photo.  I loved the colors and the texture and wanted to isolate those elements for this picture.
